The Beastie Beat Auction
View all Auction Items
Phase 3: Beginning at noon (Central Time) on Sunday, Oct. 10 a third auction began. This auction features nearly two dozen miniature versions of the decorated Beasties, called "Maquettes". These are 12-inch duplicates of several of this year's fantastic Beasties. Bids for this phase will only be accepted online. It ends at midnight on Oct. 17. The highest bids for each Maquette will win the auction.
All proceeds benefit the youth music education programs of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra League. The Beastie Beat is a public art exhibit collaboration of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra League and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Summer 2004 saw 46 Beasties on display across Milwaukee, decorated by well-known local, regional and nationally-recognized artists. All of the Beasties represent a musical theme. (The online Beastie Beat Auction is being executed by Journal Interactive on behalf of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra League, which is ultimately responsible for its administration.)
